Time to Travel! Where to Go--Safe and Open Destinations as of October 2020

Updated: Dec 27, 2020

1. Mexico—Cancun and Los Cabos

Everyone’s favorite for total R&R is ready and open. Most of the resorts have completed extensive cleaning, modifications, and installed new regulations, and the rest aren’t far behind. Expect changes in social distancing, food service changes, possibly touchless checking in, but the beaches are beautiful, the skies are blue, and those distantly placed beach chairs are waiting.

2. Jamaica

Does any place say “Caribbean” more than Jamaica? Come down and get your mojo, but expect a few procedural issues. Currently a negative PCR test, less than 72 hours old, is required, and a health review upon arrival. Still, there are plenty of flights and the resorts are as beautiful as ever.

3. Hawaii

No passport required, but up until recently our 50th state was requiring a 14-day quarantine for all incoming visitors (and returning residents). Now it is only necessary to have a negative PCR test. Both United and Hawaiian airlines have worked out agreements to help their passengers the required test.

4. Antigua

This off the beaten track, beautiful Caribbean island only requires a negative PCR test within 7 days of arrival. Come and enjoy.

5. Costa Rica

This wonderful Central American country, with everything from beautiful beaches to amazing rainforests to a spectacular volcano and mountain vistas, is removing all restrictions on November 1.

6. Dubai

The gold and glitz capital of the world is open and welcoming. However, the bordering UAE countries remain closed, so unless shop till you drop is at the top of the bucket list, it might be worth waiting awhile on this one.

7. United States National Parks

Don’t forget all those fantastic places that don’t involve crossing international borders! Our amazing National Parks are open, of course with social distancing and extra sanitary precautions in place. Why not pull out the thermal underwear and try a late fall trip to Yosemite before the crowds return next spring?

8. Tahiti—French Polynesia

With a negative PCR test less than 72 hours old, it is possible to live that South Pacific dream vacation. Just be sure and arrive on a non-stop flight from the US.

9. Grenada

Love those spices—visit a spice farm and the wonderful chocolate factory where you can taste as many samples as your cholesterol level will permit. Arrive with your negative PCR test, fill out the health forms, and relax at your lovely resort.

Always—Know Before You Go. Covid regulations and safety procedures are always changing. Planning your trip with DreamMaker Destinations will avoid unnecessary problems.
